In preparation for Gamescom, 1C has uploaded a new trailer for their upcoming puzzle platformer, Haimrik.
As you can see in the video, the environments contain text that tells a tale. The protagonist has the power to turn these words into tools for getting through the game’s puzzles. The trailer also shows quick time events, chase sequences, and regular 2D platforming. It seems this title will deliver on the promise of cartoon violence and humour as well. There is quite a lot of blood in this video and the visual style makes it stand out even more.
From the press release:
Haimrik brings its cartoon humour and violence to consoles this year!
1C proudly announces that Haimrik – a game with a new approach to the action adventure genre – will be coming to PlayStation®4 and Xbox One this Autumn, apart from being released on Windows PC via SteamTM and other digital stores. The game will be available for hands-on presentation both to the media and to the general public at the forthcoming gamescom expo in Cologne.
Haimrik also presents itself in a new gameplay trailer which unveils more of the game’s locations, enemies and puzzles that players will come across. They will be guiding Haimrik on his perilous journey to find his mother and hopefully save the whole kingdom along the way. Although he’s just a young scribe, Haimrik has a great power at his disposal – the power of words. He literally walks on words, activating some of them and turning them into physical objects. For example, if ‘fire’ burns him to a crisp, then ‘water’ can help him deal with it.
Haimrik does not have a release date yet, but 1C aims to have the game out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this autumn. It will also be available to play at Gamescom in Cologne.
