It seems that players who got a taste of Gen 3 back in October won’t have much lomnger. As you can recall, a few ghost Pokemon were available for a short time during the Halloween season. Starting this week you can find the three starters for Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby –Â Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip. Look for more unlisted Pokemon this week as well.
One cool thing that is happening in the game is a new weather system. You may not want to use a certain Pokemon depending on the weather at your particular location. The Pokemon Go blog says it best:
You’ll want to start paying even closer attention to your local weather patterns, Trainers. In addition to the in-game map being updated with cool new weather visuals, weather near you will impact Pokémon in a variety of ways. For example, you’ll find your odds of discovering Mudkip splashing around will greatly improve on rainy days, as certain Pokémon types will be more commonly found during various weather conditions. Additionally, attacks of certain types will be more effective during some weather conditions, so a Charizard’s Fire Spin will perform better on sunny days, for example.
When you look at the screen you will notice a little logo on the bottom right side. This will tell you what weather is happening in the game. It should be obvious when it is raining or snowing. Players may get confused on other days since they mostly look the same. It’s great to see continued support for this game from the developer even if it is not as popular as it was at launch.
