Horde mode has been a staple of the Gears of War series ever since the second installment, so fans were eagerly anticipating to see what Gears of War 4‘s Horde mode would look like. Well today, the Coalition have finally revealed the mode off with a new trailer.
The trailer is a basic gameplay trailer, however it does reveal the new twist on Horde mode. There will be several classes that players will have to play as: Sniper, Engineer, Soldier, Scout and Heavy. It looks like teams will have to make good use of every class to survive all 50 waves of Horde. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any Team Fortress 2 skins to go with the eerily similar class names.
Outside of the class system, the trailer showed off the chaos of the new Horde mode with Gears 4‘s enemies looking very different from the Locust of past games. These new enemies should help make this version of Horde stand out from past entries.
Gears of War 4 will launch with Horde mode on October 11 on Xbox One and Windows 10.
