The Force Is Strong With May’s Games With Gold Lineup

The month of May brings us Star Wars Day and a couple of games to match. First things first, 2017 is going to be a fantastic year for Star Wars fans and I hope you do not forget to do something fun on May 4th.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers can look forward to enjoying two free Star Wars games in May. We’ll get to those but first let’s look at the Xbox One games selection for next month.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Director’s Cut

The ubiquitous puzzle platformer makes its way to Games with Gold on May 1st. The game is downright beautiful but achievement hunters may want to insure their controllers. This one is brutally difficult and more than one gamer is going to be tempted to hurl their controller against the wall.

Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris

Originally a smaller action-adventure game for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and PC, this game puts you in the role of Lara Croft as well as one her rival treasure hunters as they seek to prevent an ancient deity from collecting fragments of an ancient relic and enslaving humanity. You’ll be able to pick this up on May 16th.

And from a galaxy far, far away comes the Xbox 360 titles…

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

On May 1st you’ll get the first of the two free Star Wars titles for the month. Darth Vader has cloned his former apprentice, Galen Starkiller, to launch a new attack on the Rebellion. Will this new iteration of an old hero reclaim his former identity or will he submit to the dark side of the force? I’ll be honest, the story is a bit of a mess and the game is short but I enjoyed it as a high-powered romp through the Star Wars universe. I say try it out for yourself.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Well, maybe the saga is not so complete now that we have a new trilogy and a few standalone Star Wars films to flesh out the saga. Still, you get solid gameplay built around the prequel and original trilogies with that Lego flair. Get a friend to play through this with you and don’t be tempted by the dark side… unless you can find a really funny way to do it.
