February 2019 NPD: Anthem Flies High, Jump Force Follows

The February 2019 NPD results are in, with some very interesting results. Per NPD analyst Mat Piscatella and VentureBeat, BioWare’s Anthem took the top spot as the bestselling game of February, while Jump Force was right behind it at number two. Metro Exodus debuted at number eight, the strongest performance for any Metro game at launch. Crackdown 3 did not chart in the top twenty.

The Nintendo Switch was the bestselling console of the month and is the bestselling console year-to-date for 2019.

Here are the numbers for February 2019 NPD:

• Total Video Game Sales: $1.047 billion, up 4% from $1.007 billion in February 2018
• Video Games Hardware: $277 million, down 12% from $316 million in February 2018
• PC & Video Games Software: $475 million, up 15% from $397 million in February 2018
• Video Games Accessories & Game Cards: $313 million, up 6% from $294 million in February 2018
