Yesterday, Ubisoft revealed a teaser for the Game Awards 2018. The teaser seemed to imply a new Far Cry game was on the way, with a post-apocalyptic tone. Today, just a few hours ahead of the Game Awards 2018, an image leaked on the Far Cry subreddit. A user named HereComeDatAlt (funny) posted what appears to be the cover art for the new game, titled Far Cry: New Dawn. If this image is real, then Far Cry: New Dawn has been leaked.
Take a look at the cover art showing Far Cry: New Dawn has been leaked below:Â
Far Cry games generally have the villain on the cover, so it looks like these two are our likely antagonists. This definitely confirms a post-apocalyptic setting. Given that the cover art is ready, does this mean we could see Far Cry: New Dawn release in 2019?
Far Cry 5 has sold extremely well and it seems likely that Ubisoft wants to keep that going. Still, generally speaking Far Cry has been on a two-year rotation since Far Cry 3 in 2012. Of course, it’s also possible that this spin-off title isn’t as large as something like Far Cry Primal.
Regardless, we won’t have to wait long for more information, since the Game Awards 2018 air today at 8:30 p.m. EST / 5:30 p.m. PDT.
