ESports Gets Its First Dedicated Chapter In Guinness World Records 2017 Gamers’ Edition

Last month saw the release of Guinness World Records 2017 Gamers’ Edition. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Gamers’ Editions, the 216 pages feature the latest broken records, new feats, and more.

A first for the record book is a dedicated chapter to the world of eSports which includes the highlights in the sport’s evolution. Some of the records include the first $10 million prize pool as well as the youngest gamer ever to win $1 million. Also included are largest live audiences, longest tournament win streaks, and most won.

Other chapters include sports, RPGs, classics, FIFA, Madden, and even Super Mario. YouTube Gamer, Ali-A, starts the book’s content with a forward while gamer Dan TDM and Twitch user OMGItsfirefoxx are featured in opening photoshoots. And it wouldn’t be an Anniversary Edition without Star Wars. Stephen Daultry included a chapter dedicated to the universe’s games, records, and history over the last 30 years.
