DUNE Games will be Developed by Funcom

The epic science fiction saga DUNE will be coming to theaters next year. Fans will also be getting some video games based on the series. Funcom the developer behind Age of Conan and Conan Exiles is working on some games set in the DUNE universe. In a recent press release the studio had this to say:

“Funcom has a strong history of working with beloved sci-fi/fantasy intellectual properties including our bestsellers Age of Conan and Conan Exiles,” said Funcom CEO, Rui Casais. “So many of us at Funcom, myself included, are huge fans of Frank Herbert’s work and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Legendary and Herbert Properties LLC to bring the iconic DUNE universe to life for gamers all over the globe.”

Development of these games will begin sometime this year. Expect more news in the next year as the production on the movie begins soon. The movie has an amazing cast including Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, and Charlotte Rampling. As a fan of the series I can’t wait to see Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE. Also here are a few other things that have happened today.
