Dragon Quest XI to Be Released Worldwide for Nintendo Switch

Gamers all over the world who love RPGs have reason to rejoice today. Initially announced as an exclusive for the Japanese market, Dragon Quest XI will make its way to Nintendo Switch owners all over the world later this year. The announcement was made during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct but you can watch the trailer by itself below:

Sporting the rather unwieldy title of Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, this version of the game offers some neat features this time around including new story elements. For the first time in franchise history, Dragon Quest XI will offer a fully orchestrated musical score. You can switch between the orchestrated music or the original tunes any time you want. Longtime fans of the franchise might appreciate the ability to choose between the game’s normal visuals or a retro-inspired version. I won’t go so far as to call them 8-bit graphics; they are considerably more detailed than that but they do remind me a lot of the old Dragon Warrior games on the NES.

As if all of that were not enough, you will also be able to choose between Japanese and English voice acting for the spoken dialogue.
