Dragon Quest Builders is Releasing in the West

The Minecraftish game Dragon Quest Builders has been available in Japan for a little while now. The game will finally be coming to the rest of us. Square Enix and Playstation have confirmed that it will be releasing on the PS4 and Vita in October of this year.

Some of the features in Dragon Quest Builders include:

  • Build a variety of unique tools from materials you gather, and rebuild towns and cities to restore life to the shattered world of Alefgard.
  • An intuitive control system will have you building the towers and castles of your dreams in no time.
  • Play your own way—an immersive DRAGON QUEST® story and world to explore, combined with the freedom of sandbox gameplay, provides a new and exciting, family-friendly experience.
  • Battle with famous monsters from the DRAGON QUEST series and interact with gorgeously designed 3D characters.

The idea for this Dragon Quest sets players back after the first game when the hero should have easily defeated the Dragonlord. Instead the hero took a teal and plunged the world into a darkness that it wouldn’t return from . The world lost its creative spirit and it’s up to you (either a boy or girl) as you have been awakened by the Guardian Spirit. You are the Legendary Builder that has been summoned to rebuild this dark world.

Dragon Quest Builders will be coming to players in North America and Europe this October. It will have a version on the PS4 and also a digital only version on the PS Vita. Let us know in the comment section below if your excited to play this Minecraft hybrid.
