Doom Blasts Its Way To Nintendo Switch On November 10th

It has been over twenty years since Doom has graced a Nintendo console. The gates of Hell will open once more for the house of Mario as the game releases for the Nintendo Switch on November 10th.

Nintendo has been reportedly wooing developers of titles that are more “mature” than the type of content Nintendo usually produces. Bethesda is responding with Switch ports of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus andof course, Doom.

The Nintendo Switch version is developed by Panic Button who is also working on porting Rocket League to the hybrid console. The Switch version of Doom is reportedly less intensive in terms of visuals than the PS4 and Xbox One which makes sense given the mobile architecture Nintendo used. The big draw here is portability.

The single player campaign and the multiplayer maps are available in the Switch version. However, the multiplayer component must be downloaded separately even if you buy a physical copy of the game.
