Devil May Cry V Will Receive No Post Launch DLC

Capcom has been on fire lately in terms of the success they have found with their most recent releases such as Resident Evil 2 Remake, Monster Hunter World, and Mega Man 11. One of the greatest aspects of Capcom’s return to form has been their post-launch support for their games. Monster Hunter World just received a unique Witcher crossover, with the highly anticipated Iceborne expansion coming later this year. As well as Resident Evil II Remake receiving free content updates, that brought different survivor story content to the game free of charge. It is safe to say that Capcom seems very in tune with their audience and giving them more content for their favorite games. Which is why this announcement from one of the game’s producers is very puzzling.

As reported on by GameInformer, Matt Walker who is one of the producers involved in DMC V said on Twitter that there were currently no plans for post-launch DLC. With the exemption of the Bloody Palace update which will become available sometime after launch. While this may seem strange in an era of service games, and constant DLC. If Devil May Cry V can deliver a complete game out the gate, without needing any DLC to pad it out, that should definitely be celebrated. This should not be a deal breaker, and this absolutely doesn’t mean if Devil May Cry V is a smash hit that Capcom might change their mind. Only time will tell what the future will hold for Devil May Cry V.
