DC Universe will launch on Batman Day (September 15)

As many superhero fans know, Batman Day is September 15th and what better way to celebrate than binge watching movies with all of your favorite heroes and villains from DC Comics? It turns out that DC Universe will launch on Batman Day according to an announcement from Kevin Smith on DC Daily.

DC Universe is a subscription service which will allow users to access a wealth of content based on DC Comics. All of the old Superman films with Christopher Reeve will be there at launch along with Batman Begins, Batman Begins, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures and Super Friends. If you’re a fan of the newer animated DC specials then you will be pleased to know you can find lots of them on DC Universe.

There will also be exclusive series like the live action Titans and Harley Quinn. If you need to brush up on your DC lore you can access the interactive encyclopedia and a curated list of classic DC comics. All of this content will work on your PC, smartphone, tablet and streaming devices.

An annual plan will cost $74.99 but if you pre-order your membership you will get an extra three months at no extra cost. Those who pre-order the annual plan will be entered into a contest to win a trip to DC headquarters and go for a ride in the Batmobile from Batman Forever. If you want to pay monthly then you’ll pay $7.99 per month.
