Today is Halloween! For the past month we have been giving all of you a daily helping of articles that should get you excited for today. I have something to contribute even if it isn’t an official Witching Hour article. What I have is a small list of spooky games you need to jump into.
3. Dead By Daylight
The first game on my list is a totally insane experience. I mean it; this game will really just mess you. Players will either jump into the role of the survivor who must flee the other player who is the killer. The survivor will actually play as a group of people who have to try to live through a match. This really is an extremely hard thing to do when you have one player as the killer.
That killer has a range of special powers and ability that can be upgraded through matches over time. Players will be able to pick from a range of survivors and killers. The killers actually get some very famous monsters to pick from the Saw franchise, Halloween, or even Nightmare on Elm Street. This game just about has them all except for that one lone killer from the Friday the 13th movies. Jason Voorhees has his own equally terrifying game to enjoy. The depth of Dead By Daylight is amazing and the game can truly make the strongest in the room uneasy.
2. Costume Quest Series
How could you not jump into this wonderful game on Halloween? It comes from the studio that brought us Psychonauts – Double Fine. We have the classic holiday tale of children trying to get candy on Halloween and ultimately rescuing an obnoxious sibling from monsters. The story does have a neat little twist that allows the children’s costumes to come alive and fight against the evil monsters that wants all of the candy.
The RPG style gameplay mixed with the fantastic audio and cartoon style graphics make this game a must play. I should just stop writing about the game and just keep playing it. Really, go out and play this game. I’m always hoping a third game in the series will show up.

Diablo 3
The Diablo franchise has had a long and interesting history already. I mean, I was in high school when the original game released. Diablo 3 is coming out on the Nintendo Switch at the end of this week. While it is unfortunate that Switch owners wont get the chance to play the game on Halloween, it is still a great choice for something to play on other platforms on the spookiest of holidays.
Players must travel through New Tristram and other realms to defeat Diablo and his minions. The game has the scary ability to take hours of time away from you in a blink of an eye.
I know what is going to happen on this holiday. Most gamers will be jumping into either Red Dead Redemption 2 or Fortnite: Battle Royale. With that in mind, I hope that everybody just has a great safe and fun time this Halloween.
