Crash Bandicoot Is Coming to Skylanders Along with Remastered Games

While it may not be in the form of a new game, Crash Bandicoot is officially back! The video game icon made his comeback during Sony’s E3 conference with two announcements. The first being that Crash Bandicoot; Crash Bandicoot 2Cortex Strikes Back; and Crash Bandicoot: Warped are being remastered exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. The second being that Crash is finally joining Spyro in Skylanders.

Crash will be coming in a special Skylanders starter pack that will be available only on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4; however, you will be able to play as Crash on any console. The original voice of Crash, Jess Harnell will be returning to voice him in Skylanders.

Activsion CEO, Eric Hirshberg, had this to say about Crash’s return: “For years, we’ve been asked when is Crash returning, and today that question has been answered. Activision is proud to celebrate the iconic character’s 20-year anniversary by bringing him back in ways that will appeal to hardcore fans as well as introduce him to a new generation of gamers,” … “We can’t wait for gamers to see Crash bring his unique style and quirky personality to the epic battle against Kaos in Skylanders Imaginators. And next year, we’ll expand on the Crash experience for players with remastered versions of three classic games.”

All of this combined with Crash’s cameo/easter egg in Uncharted 4, definitely means the Bandicoot is back and hopefully here to stay. Perhaps we will finally see a new game in the series at next year’s E3.
