The Outer Worlds Epic Game Store

Control and The Outer Worlds Are Coming to the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games store has been causing quite a stir in the PC gaming world as of the past few month’s. Since its launch we have slowly seen more and more games, end up being available on Epic Games store but not launching on Steam due to exclusivity deals. With the Epic Games Store most recently securing games such Metro Exodus and The Division 2. As of today’s news it doesn’t look like this trend is going to stop anytime soon. As reported by PC Gamer, at Epic’s Unreal GDC keynote they revealed a partnership with 2K’s Private Division branch to distribute The Outer Worlds and Ancestor’s: The Humankind Odyssey. It is important to note that The Outer Worlds will also be available via the Microsoft Store. Which only makes sense since Xbox’s purchase of The Outer Worlds developers Obsidian late last year. This comes just on the tails of news that Remedy’s upcoming Sci-fi 3rd person shooter Control would also be skipping Steam and launching exclusively on The Epic Games Store.

There is a lot of diversion among the PC community in terms of how The Epic Games Store competes with Steam. The Epic Games Store coming in and buying up exclusivity and keeping games off Steam is basically unheard of in the PC space. With many PC players citing lack of features, privacy concerns, and poor business practices of why they refuse to support the Epic Games Store. As it stands however, no matter what your thoughts are in terms of the Epic Games store. It is here to stay, and it feels safe to say this is only the beginning.
