Check out the new Ghosts of Tsushima teaser; full trailer to be released during The Game Awards

Sony will release a full trailer for the upcoming PlayStation exclusive Ghosts of Tsushima during The Game Awards presentation on Thursday. However, the fine folks over at PlayStation were nice enough to give us a little teaser during their State of Play 2019 event. You can watch the new teaser for yourself below:

The teaser does not show us much but … Wow! The sunlight shining into the forests of fuedal Japan is beautifully rendered. The physics of fallen leaves drifting geently in the breeze is almost hypnotic. We see a small band of warriors confronted by a masked individual wielding a blade and what appears to be some sort of flash bomb.

And that’s it for now. You will have to wait for The Game Awards conferencce to see the full trailer in all of its glory. We still do not have an official releaase date for Ghosts of Tsushima but I suspect that will be announced on Thursday.

Make sure to catch the trailer during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 12th at 5:30 p.m. Pacific time.

As noted above, Ghosts of Tsushima gives the player a taste of life during Medieval Japan. You play as a samurai named Jin Saka who trains in the way of the Ghosts so he can go on to confront Mongol invaders. Though it was not readily apparent from this teaser, Jin can also use a grappling hook and his trusty horse as he prepares to face off against one of the most powerful armies in the history of Earth.

The game is produced by Sucker Punch. If that name rings a bell then you probably played their earlier titles from the Infamous franchise.

This is not the only exciting news for PlayStation fans this week. It seems that Sony’s excellent baseball series – MLB: The Show – will make its way to other console platforms as early as 2021 according to David.
