No one was expecting this especially before E3, but it seems that Activision has informed the other studios in the Call of Duty development that Treyarch will take the 2020 slot from Sledgehammer and Raven studios. The studio will be bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 in 2020. This story comes from Kotaku.  What’s more, is that we already know the timeframe in which Black Ops will be set in, it will be the Cold War. Also a new Modern Warfare is rumored to be this year’s Call of Duty.
So I’m sure you’re wondering what’s gonna happen with Raven studio and Sledgehammer? It appears that they will provide support to Treyarch for the upcoming Black Ops 5 game. As for the work that they have already done, it will be transferred to the story mode for the game. Apparently the two studios just couldn’t work together to get the job done.
Let us know your thoughts on the announcement of the next Black Ops in the comment section below. How do you feel about Raven studio and Sledgehammer’s involvement? Activision has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
