Blue Reflection Gets Teaser Trailer

A while back, Koei Tecmo announced that they would be bringing Blue Reflection westward. Now they have a teaser trailer for the upcoming localization.

In this video, we see dark energy emanating from schoolgirls, a beautiful alternate reality, and magical girl style transformations. We also get a glimpse of the battle system and one boss that looks fairly menacing. Unfortunately, this teaser does not contain any dialogue.

Along with this trailer, Koei Tecmo released a more thorough overview of the game. After returning to school following her accident, protagonist Hinako winds up in The Common. This parallel world is a land created by the collective human unconscious. She encounters a demon upon her arrival but soon receives the power of a Reflector, allowing her to fight back. It is then that a pair of magical twins make her an offer: if she agrees to protect the world, they will grant her any wish.

Over the course of the game, Hinako and friends will venture forth into The Common to slay monsters and search for emotion fragments. These crystals serve as physical manifestations of the struggles of her schoolmates. The team seeks them out to fix the students’ problems in the real world. Meanwhile, the Sephira advance toward the real world. These gigantic beasts want nothing more than to destroy all of humanity and it is up to the Reflectors to subdue them.

While she may be a Reflector, Hinako is still a student in the real world. In between excursions into the other realm, players can socialize with other characters as part of daily school life. Since The Common is a world born from human thought, the bonds that Hinako forms give her strength as a Reflector.

Blue Reflection will be available in North America and Europe on PS4 and PC. The North American release date is September 26, 2017. It will then release a few days later in Europe on the 29th.
