Many games were shown off at Microsoft’s Xbox E3 press conference, but one of the most unique games presented in the 90+ minute show was Black Desert Online. If the visuals lead you believe this is a Japanese Role Playing Game, then you would be wrong. In perhaps a first for the Xbox line of consoles, Black Desert Online is actually a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game by Korean developers Pearl Abyss. Work on the game began in the year 2010 and has expanded since then to the game you see today.
Black Desert Online features many eye catching features. The game features what developer Pearl Abyss claims to be “…the deepest character customization of any game currently on the market, Black Desert Online allows for unprecedented detail in character creation.” The large character creation options aren’t the only highlight of the game; Black Desert Online also offers you the choice of 14 character classes. You can choose between Striker, Valkyrie, Berserker, Kunoichi, Witch, Ninja and more. Using the power of the Xbox One X, Black Desert Online looks to offer character models of the highest quality.
While the character creation is nothing to joke at, the vast world itself should lure in gamers who enjoy role playing games. As previously stated, the game has been in the works since 2010 and has had a PC release with various expansions. Guided by a black spirit, you’ll travel throughout the world, learn the histories of ancient civilizations, settle conflicts, and discover the secrets found in the Black Desert itself.
