During a Reddit AMA, Bill Gates answered questions about his many philanthropic endevours and such. But when it comes to Age of Empires fans (myself included), they will always find a way to grill Microsoft employees on the question.
Mr. Gates, can we please have another Age of Empires? Not sure if this is your department, but I figured I’d ask since you were here…

Bill Gates, humorously replied to the comment by stating that he would look into the Age of Empires question, and also replied with ‘How many Empires do you need’. Classic trolling by the co-founder of Microsoft. And since the only person who really can do anything about this is Phil Spencer, it’s hard to believe Bill Gates will really do anything.
Age of Empires 3 launched in the early 2000’s, continuing the march of one of the most iconic franchises in the Microsoft vault. Since then the game has fallen by the wayside with a rather lackluster Free to Play Age of Empires Online, and then quickly shut down because of backlash.
With Microsoft and Xbox shutting down studios and focusing more on profitability than satisfying gamers’ thirst for more games even when they don’t buy them, it remains to be seen if Age of Empires will see the light of day, or be dumped into the recycle bin.
