If you’ve been following the official Bethesda account on Twitter, you’ll have noticed that there are a few interesting posts that have been made over the last couple of days. There’s common themes in most of them, like the pink paint and the numbers 5-14. Going through all of these posts, these teases are pointing towards an announcement of some kind before Bethesda’s E3 2018 showcase.
Let’s dive in and figure why Bethesda is teasing a May 14th announcement:
So, here’s the first post that was made on Twitter at noon (in EST):
A clock tower, with pink paint and the hands pointing to 5:14. Sure enough, at 5:14 p.m. EST, the second post was made:
A rocket with pink paint flying through pink clouds, the numbers 5-14 written on the side. So this tweet is clearly insinuating an announcement on 5-14, or May 14th. The rocket might even be a hint towards the teases of a new Prey title, which have focused on the moon. The third post was made a few hours later:
A large intersection, coated in pink paint. Hinting towards vehicles perhaps? Most likely, especially in light of the fourth post, which was made a few hours ago:
There it is. A character from RAGE, all but confirming that RAGE 2 is on the way. In case you need even more convincing, here’s the fifth (and most recent) post:
Yeah. RAGE 2 is a thing. It’s a surprise (we didn’t see that coming in our Bethesda E3 2018 predictions) but it’s certainly welcomed. So the question is, will we get a trailer for RAGE 2 on May 14th, or is that date (and all the pink paint) for something else? We’ll have to wait a couple of days and see.
