Batman Will Run On Telltale’s Upgraded Engine

Telltale Games has shed some light on their new Batman game at SXSW that took place last weekend and those details mentioned an upgraded version of their engine.

Telltale Games co-founder, Kevin Bruner, gave more details about their adventure for the Caped Crusader at the SXSW panel saying, “We’ve got a whole lot of new technology that’s going in that you’ll start to see in Batman, and Telltale games going forward […] We have a bunch of new engineers that have been working on rendering technology – non-photorealistic rendering technology […] but it’s really cool, very much upgraded from the kinds of things that you’ve seen from Telltale in the past […] It’s still a Telltale game, so it’ll be evolved from what you’ve seen before, but I think a more significant step than you’ve seen from any of our products in the past.”

Many gamers know that Telltale’s engine gets it’s fair share of critics. Personally as a fan, this news is music to my ears and I’m sure many would agree with me; although, no game footage has been shown just yet. In the meantime, we will have to wait. Batman: A Telltale Games Series is said to be released this year with no release date yet.
