Another unfortunate closure in the gaming industry, Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver is closing its doors. This year has been riddled with jobs losses and studio closures. Telltale Games, Boss Key Productions, Six Foot had major layoffs and now Bandai Namco Vancouver. The studio is mostly responsible for mobile games such as Tekken, Tap My Katamari, Pac Man 256, Bounce and more. Landon Nguyen who is the Tekken mobile Game Director and Senior Vice President, spoke out on twitter about the studio closing.
“I’m sad to announce that as of today Bandai Namco Studios Vancouver will be shutting down. I want to thank everyone who came with us on this journey. We shipped some awesome experiences together. Thank you to all the fans who supported our games and our studio #gamedev” ~@Arc9ine. *Source – Gameinformer*
The tweet has been subsequently deleted, suggesting that a public statement will be made at some point soon regarding the studio closure
