Nintendo capped their E3 press conference last year with a shot heard around the world. Metroid Prime 4 was coming. Fans were elated but it wasn’t long before questions were asked. Namely, who exactly is developing this game? The esteemed developers of the first three games in the series, Retro Studios, was thought to be once again crafting an adventure for Samus Aran but no, a different studio would be developing this title. That studio is Bandai Namco according to a report from Eurogamer.
Metroid Prime 4 will be an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch and is currently under development at Bandai Namco Studios Singapore who is collaborating with Nintendo. Interestingly enough, a number of displaced employees from LucasArts Singapore have joined this branch of Bandai Namco – including some developers who worked on the canceled Star Wars 1313 game.
The revelation came about after fans noticed references to a “First Person Shooter/Adventure” title that would be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch on LinkedIn. Other profiles from Bandai Namco Studios Singapore mentioned collaborations with Nintendo.
Multiple sources stepped forward and confirmed to Eurogamer that Bandai Namco Studios Singapore is indeed the developer of Metroid Prime 4.
The LinkedIn profiles of developers close to the project indicated that Ridge Racer 8 would be a Switch exclusive though it is unclear if this is timed or not.
