Ryo Shirakome’s light novel Arifureta From Commonplace to World’s Strongest will be getting an anime adaptation that will make its debut on July 8th. If you are unfamiliar with Shirakome’s light novel, here is a brief synopsis: The story follows Hajime Nagumo your average teenage otaku, whose life revolves around pulling all-nighters and sleeping in school. One day while sleeping in class Hajime and his class is transported to a fantasy world. When they arrive they are treated like heroes and are given the tasks to save humanity from extinction. With most series, this is like a dream come true but not for Hajime; this quickly becomes his worst nightmare. As his class gets blessed with godlike powers Hajime, unfortunately, gets the role of Synergist, who’s only skill is transmutation. With lackluster skills, his fellow classmates bully and ridicule him for being weak. Will Hajime fall into despair and a victim to the treacherous world or will he come out on top?
