Allison Road Is Back In Development!

Oh, how many gamers are going to be pleased by this piece of news. Back in June, Allison Road, the spiritual successor of P.T., announced that it was cancelled and will not be released. It has just been announced that it is back in development!

Allison Road creator Christian Kesler spoke with IGN saying that he will work on the game alone. The game will be under a new label called Far From Home, which was co-founded with his wife. “I’m actually really happy to be able to announce that Allison Road will continue,” Kesler told IGN, “We had a lot of support online and some folks out there are just incredibly nice.”

In talking about how he got back to Allison Road, he said, “It did take a bit of soul searching to find the drive again to work on Allison Road and to simply make a call on what to do next,” Kesler told IGN. “After the set back, I took a bit of a break from working on it and re-evaluated all the work that had been done so far, the whole journey, so to speak. I started making a few (in my opinion) necessary changes to the story and the flow, little bits and pieces here and there, and before I knew it, it sort of naturally came back to life.”

Kesler has all the confidence that he will be able to tackle this project alone, as he reminds those who were with this project since the very beginning this was a solo project, before more help came. “For our gameplay trailer, I did all the modeling, texturing, shaders, lighting, etc., and thankfully a lot of the mechanics are already implemented from the previous development phase, so I can comfortably take the game forward by myself,” Kesler told IGN. “If and when it comes to a point where new features and mechanics are required, or old ones need changing, I’ll go look for support.”

Allison Road was announced back in July 2015, and was given a 13 minute long pre-alpha video set entirely in a suburban home, similar to Silent Hills playable teaser, P.T. The kickstarter earned over half of it’s funding in three weeks. Lilith Ltd. then partnered with Team17 that ended up shutting down the Kickstarter in favor of a publisher. Despite the hype around Allison Road, it was cancelled in June 2016 and many fans of the project were disappointed.

Although, it has been revived there is still no word on a release date just yet. Any more updates on this project, we’ll be sure to let you guys know so stay tuned to TICGN.
